8 Video Games That IMMEDIATELY Gave You Buyer's Remorse

4. Saints Row (2022)

Nothing in the marketing for last year's Saints Row reboot suggested that it would be a great game, but at least it'd probably continue the series' tradition of delivering undemanding, unapologetically dumb fun, right?

Except the series' latest entry planed its signature edges away for a more sanitised, less-fun experience that rarely rose above generic open-world action game territory.

The characters lack personality, the plot isn't outlandish enough, and the missions are aggressively generic, adding up to an experience that's just dull, even outright soulless.

There's an oddly corporate feeling to this reboot, that in trying to appeal to as wide a demographic as possible, it lost sight of what made Saints Row popular in the first place.

Considering barely a week goes by without a brilliant game or two being released, it's tough for anyone who threw down day-one cash for this not to wince at the thought of it.

It's a "wait for sale" release if there ever was one, but even then, is your time not better spent elsewhere?
