8 Worst Video Game Levels Of 2018

7. Gridlock - Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4

Black Ops 4 is easily the best Call of Duty since something as totemic as Modern Warfare 2, coming complete with a clearly Overwatch-inspired set of superpowered soldiers and levels that play into an incredibly fast pace.

It all works surprisingly well despite the militaristic tone Call of Duty has had in the past, but Gridlock stands out as a notably naff inclusion that actively limits your combat possibilities, rather than encouraging them.

Like something from a bygone era, this map is essentially one giant capital I; two T-shapes joined at the base. You spawn in one of the "t zones" and make your way towards the other, only to be gunned down by the opposition when crossing the middle causeway. There are a couple more routes around the outsides of this middle path, but they're a campers paradise, putting you out in full view of another player who's ready to take the shot.

Obviously COD players will insist there's a way to "gid gud" if you put enough time in, but when you're forever wandering down the same grey corridors, actively trying to get cheap shots by shooting exposed heads from behind cover, it almost betrays the very progression Black Ops 4 showcases otherwise.
