9 2018 Video Games That Wasted Their Biggest Selling Points

1. A Multiplayer Fallout - Fallout 76

Technically, on a good day, when the servers are online and you're not too disappointed because Bethesda sent you the wrong bag for your special edition, Fallout 76 can fulfil its contract as a "multiplayer Fallout".

But M A N, does that come with what feels like an endless amount of caveats.

For whatever reason, Bethesda haven't handled the rollout of F76 particularly well, or with what feels like much planning. The game's public beta was only a week before launch, giving the team no time to implement any meaningful changes, and come launch... it just kept going offline.

PvP is riddled with damage glitches, and even looking straight at the floor speeds up the frame-rate as the game engine then has less to render per player. The company haven't implemented useful methods to report abusive players either (it's an external website with video uplinks), leading to recently, an all-out homophobic attack from one group to another.

All this, and I haven't even mentioned the fact that the overarching Fallout fandom never wanted it from day one.

Sadly, Fallout 76 has received multiple price cuts to try and entice newcomers, but only a few weeks after launch, it already feels like it's time to move on.
