9 Amazing Video Games That Will NEVER Get Sequels (And Why)

7. Enslaved: Odyssey Of The West

Enslaved: Odyssey of the West is what they call in the industry a grower, not a shower. At the time, it was a bit of a risk: the whole world was obsessed with modern-military shooters and, uh, Guitar Hero, but here was a bold, story-driven action-adventure fantasy game whose strengths didn't lie in combat.

As you might have guessed, pretty much nobody played it. It wasn't a perfect game by any means, but Ninja Theory's title had heart and ambition, and its well-realised world and characters were genuinely engrossing. Hell, it starred Andy Serkis and was written by Alex Garland - how could it have been anything but?

At one point a sequel was planned, but the game sold extremely poorly and it was scrapped. Still, the team lamented the decision, and it's hard to shake the feeling that a follow up might have been made had the game dropped a few years later than it did.
