9 Annoying Video Game Moments You Hated
4. The Blobs - Metro 2033
This game still stands out for being as grounded as possible within the horrors of a nuclear apocalypse. Unlike Fallout, levity wasn’t a thing within the Metro universe and every bullet counts. Like literally, as these are now considered currency throughout the many stations below the earth’s surface.
Encounters were bone-chilling and most would do well to avoid them, as the mutated monsters of the nuclear disaster were nothing to be messed with. That is, until Artyom comes across a section of the game almost entirely populated with glowing blob-like things he can't avoid.
This feels so off compared to the rest of the game thus far, what with them floating towards the player and just exploding, leaving behind a deadly atomic cloud that does severe AOE damage. With ammo being so scarce in the tunnels of the Metro, you blast through it with ease here and on high difficulties, these Blobs are unavoidable. Players can also save themselves into a fail state too, which is one of the most unforgivable sins of any video game.
