Not often does a dedicated Nintendo platformer starring a bonafide icon slip under the radar, but here we are, talking about Yoshi as if he's gone extinct like the rest of his kind. A spiritual successor to equally underrated Yoshi's Story for the N64, Crafted World adopts the same pop-up picture book visual aesthetic of the former and stirs a number of new ideas into the magical mix.

Making full use of three-dimensional space (and acting as if not using digital real estate was a wasteful act) to great effect, nearly every cutesy cardboard cutout home and backdrop will yield something when Mario's best friend hurls an egg at it, providing incredible value to repeated playthroughs.

If you're along for the ride only to hop, skip and jump from point A to B and kick Bowser's petulant offspring out of town, that's more than acceptable, too. Play how you want and be rewarded regardless.
