9 Best Nintendo Switch Games You're Not Playing

4. Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap

In the running for the best-looking remake of all time, Wonder Boy takes its 1989 original and gives it a modern anime makeover. Brilliantly, developers Lizardcube included a one-button toggle to hop between the old and new graphics, Halo: Master Chief Collection-style, letting you see the hard work they put into every pixel.

The game itself is a side-scroller with a number of character-swapping elements, letting you play as the titular Wonder Boy (or Wonder Girl) with access to a standard block and attack, yet over the game you become the fire-spitting Lizard-Man, climbing Mouse-Man or the flying Hawk-Man - amongst others - giving some much-needed variety to levels.

Yes, it's very basic (the game's guts are still routed in 1989, after all), but there's just so much charm and passion gone into making this appealing to a new generation. A hybrid of Akira Toriyama-esque animation and old-school immortal platforming, Wonder Boy is an immaculate fit for Nintendo's flagship console.
