Learning the basic building blocks of a survival game like Don't Starve is key to...not starving. "What are these basic building blocks?" you may ask. Gathering resources, crafting items, and recognizing what sort of enemies lurk in the darkness are all things that are learned through the challenging and repetitive gameplay of Don't Starve.

Developed by Klei Entertainment, Don't Starve's eccentric aesthetic blends H.P. Lovecraft's writing and Tim Burton's movies, and pairs them with the gameplay mechanics of Amnesia's sanity meter and survival objectives from The Long Dark.

Keep yourself fed, warm, and sane, and survive as long as you can in the harsh and terrifying wilderness. Despite the repetitive action that makes up the game, unique activities like picking flowers, and wearing fashionable clothes can serve you well and keep your sanity in check.

Don't Starve is a lovely exercise in testing how well a player can manage their needs in an ever changing and ever threatening environment. What's even cooler is when you feel bored with the repetition of it all, you can play with a friend to ensure that you don't starve together.
