Unfortunately for professional developers, however, time is a luxury it can't afford. Deadlines, corporate pressure and the dreaded crunch can all too often result in a great deal of content being left on the cutting room floor, a struggle that Obsidian Entertainment knows better than most.

Pressured by LucasArts to get its sequel to BioWare's Knights of the Old Republic out the door in 16 months or less, the studio had no choice but to ship The Sith Lords in a working, but unfinished, state.

Not constrained by contractual obligations and eager to see the Force-infused RPG's full potential realised, a band of modders set about excavating all of the content Obsidian was forced to cut, gradually restoring buried files to full working order and filling in the gaps where necessary.
