9 Hugely Anticipated Video Games That Disappeared Overnight

9. Eight Days

Eight Days
SCE London Studio

The PS3 was a dark time for Sony. Fresh off world-dominating PS2 sales, they entered the generation saying we'd "want two jobs" to pay for the thing, masqueraded a fake trailer for Killzone 2 as gameplay, and on the year of its launch, 2006, we got eyes on Eight Days.

Sparking another debate over what we can CLEARLY see today is fake gameplay footage, Eight Days would see actor Ving Rhames as one of a pair of cops going up against villains Dennis Hopper and Gary Oldman across the eight-day period.

More promising gameplay would emerge as the title was announced as cancelled in 2008, only for a followup a year later to instead claim the project was "on hold".

Well, another 12 years and an entire console cycle has passed, meaning *does calculations* the game's new title should be 5614 Days.
