9 Launch Games That Would Ensure Xbox Scorpio's Success
7. Cuphead
Don't underestimate the appeal of indie games.
The Scorpio's main selling point (as if we needed reminding), is its promise to provide more visual fidelity than having corrective lasers beamed into your eyeballs, but that's no reason why it can't just as easily serve the secondary purpose of raising the profile of certain properties.
Studio MDHR's 1930s-inspired platformer has been in the works since what feels time immemorial by now, its numerous delays no doubt leading to anticipation levels falling considerably, if not snuffed out entirely, so what better way to give it a boost than pairing its release date with the Xbox One's superior?
It doesn't boast the photo-realistic visual of its triple-A brethren, but I'll take Cuphead's eye-popping homage to cartoons of yesteryear over those any day of the week. Slap some native 4K support on it for Scorpio and we'll have a sure-fire winner, I reckon.
