9 Major Problems With Fallout Nobody Wants To Admit

8. Dated Graphics Are Becoming A Real Problem

Although Bethesda was cut a lot of slack in the previous generation for not having the best looking open world games around, a lot of the excuses and justifications for their poor graphics no longer hold up today.

Because while previously sandbox games had to sacrifice visual detail for an increased scale, games like The Witcher 3 and Arkham Knight are proof that that's no longer the case.

The Fallout series can look beautiful in certain scenarios and under the right conditions, but more often than not the games look incredibly dated when viewed up close or during regular minute-to-minute gameplay.

Graphics aren't everything of course, but with the franchise moving towards a conventional 'cinematic' experience that puts the focus on the player's created protagonist, bad visuals can detract from its intended impact.

The older games could get away with it because they were closer to text-based RPGs than something like Mass Effect, but if they want to make the recent changes to the franchise succeed, Bethesda need to massively up their game when it comes to visual presentation.
