6. WET
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Puv8jlj344 The demo threw you right into the action as Rubi, giving you a few simple slow-mo mechanics to play with and turning you loose; sliding, wall-running and flipping about all while raining bullets on some hapless Yakuza thugs. As your progressed through the demo you were given new ways to murder folk, such as zip-lining and swinging from poles, all interspersed with pulpy visuals and a greasy rock soundtrack reminiscent of countless bar fights shown on film. Then it with a short section where Rubi surfed on cars on a motorway jumping from vehicle to vehicle using quick-time events, just to really cement that awesome first impression - grind house meets Kill Bill meets The Matrix. Seems fun, right? Not really. Once again, like so many of these games, the finished product simply repeats the demo until you can't take any more. You unlock a few cool extra moves while you play through, but the majority of the action is the same sliding, jumping and wall-running throughout. The levels are linear, and there's such little variety that the game's pace sorely drags as you find yourself killing yet another huge room full of guys with the same slide, slash, wall-run and shoot combinations. In the demo, the spacing out of new moves you were taught kept a compelling pace. In the rest of what's on offer you're taught rarely anything else; all of Rubi's more impressive acrobatics (especially against bosses) were doled out through quick-time events, rather than any new or unique combinations of skilful moves to master.
