9 Reasons Red Dead Redemption 2 Is Better Than GTA 5
8. Combat Handles WAY Better
Red Dead makes the bold decision to severely limit your inventory in the name of realism. You can only hold two pistols and two rifles even after upgrading, with other weapons being stored in your horse's saddlebags.
It forces you to really consider each encounter, but the uptick is you can really tell Rockstar have carried across all the lessons learned from Max Payne 3, in regards to weapon identity and individuality. Customisation and cleaning are also options, but the lumbering momentum that guides Arthur during a fight translates into every bullet landing with requisite impact.
Taking cover, dodge-diving, triggering Dead Eye - it even has the cutaway "bullet cams" from Max Payne to add a little flair to proceedings. Basically, where GTA was a ton of "hold left trigger and press right until done", RDR2 is that too, but with way more on top.
