7. The Storm Fortress - Assassin's Creed: Rogue

While a lot of players are picking up the remastered version of Assassin's Creed: Rogue after missing out on it at the dawn of the new generation of consoles, they're also discovering that the overlooked title is home of one of the most difficult challenges ever featured in the series.

Doubling down on the naval elements that everyone loved so much in Black Flag, Rogue featured a handful of legendary vessels to battle against on the high seas, and the final one of these, The Storm Fortress, made for an incredibly demanding - yet truly spectacular - set-piece boss fight.

Staying in one place to hit the vessel with everything you've got is a certain death sentence, and in order to get the upper hand you need to chip away at the ship's health whilst keeping on the move. That's easier said than done though, especially when you're trying to elegantly move your cumbersome hunk of junk around waves which are only there to make your life hell.

To make matters worse, once you're closing in on the killing blow, The Storm Fortress will actually call in two other legendary ships to give it a helping hand, and it's at this point where all semblance of planning and tactics goes to absolute s**t in favour of blind firing and hoping for a lucky shot.
