9 Things We Learned From Red Dead Redemption 2's Leaked Map
4. It's About The Size Of Red Dead Redemption's Map
In the words of Michael Caine, "It's not the size mate, it's how you use it".
It seems Rockstar have learned over the years that you don't always need to create large maps just for the sake of it. Size isn't everything (calm down at the back), and GTA V proved that if every square inch of something is hand-crafted and perfectly-designed, it can be just as enjoyable as the likes of Bethesda's Elder Scrolls worlds, or CD Projekt RED's for The Witcher 3.
As such, looking at the size of the Great Plains on both old and new maps lets us apply a similar scale to the entire game world on offer. Red Dead's map was 28 square miles, and GTA V's was 31. They look about a similar size on the leak, but you can bet your bottom dollar Rockstar are crafting something as dense and detailed as that of their revamped San Andreas.
