9 (Unconventional) First-Person Video Games You Must Play
8. The Vanishing Ethan Carter
If you're a PC gamer, go get this game yesterday! It just dropped on Steam. PS4 players will have to wait until 2015 TBD, whenever that is. The Vanishing Ethan Carter is a bold blend of open-world design and supernatural, detective gameplay. This is a mystery game at its core, and not you're typical brand. After a boy named Ethan Carter goes missing, you're tasked with solving the strange disappearance, exploring the local forests and lakesides in search of clues. As you stumble across certain evidence, you'll be granted access to clairvoyant visions of past events and important locations. The Astronauts are former People Can Fly developers, of Bulletstorm and Gears of War Judgement fame. Ethan Carter doesn't seem to let players anywhere near a gun and we're interested to see what a developer who is commonly known for shooters does with a cerebral, puzzle caper. Initial reviews are positive, claiming the game is absolutely gorgeous, novel in premise and execution, a bit heavy-handed with it's on-screen cues and altogether quite brief. If you're a quality-over-quantity type, and you like nature, atmospheric murder-dramas and long, thoughtful walks, it sounds like Ethan Carter is for you... or will be, come 2015.
Real Science Magazine called James' addiction to video games "sexually attractive." He also worked really hard and got really lucky in college and earned some awards for acting, improv and stand-up, but nobody cares about that out here in LA. So... He's starting over fresh, performing when He can. His profile picture features James as Serbian, vampire comic Dorde Mehailo with His anonymous Brother and Uncle at the Nerdmelt Showroom in West Hollywood. In James' spare time, he engages in acting, writing, athletics, hydration, hours of great pondering and generally wishing you'd like him.
