9 Upcoming Video Games Destined To Be The Sleeper Hits Of 2016

It's a miracle that Homefront: The Revolution has even been made at all. After the middling reception that the first game received and with subsequent publishers and developers going bust while crafting this year's follow-up, for a time it looked as though this budding franchise was doomed for a long, drawn-out death.

Which always seemed like a shame, because it's a series with such potential. Set in a dystopian alternate reality where the forces of the West have succumbed to the superior firepower of the East, Homefront was a game who's ambitious story far exceeded its decidedly unambitious gameplay.

However, Dambuster Studios (formerly Crytek UK) have gone to great lengths to shake-up the core Homefront experience, adopting a more open, Crysis or Far Cry-inspired mission structure. The reception to the recent beta wasn't the warmest it could have been, but that just means Homefront: The Revolution is all the more capable of exceeding expectations when it releases in a few months.
