9 Upcoming Wii U Games That Will Redeem It In 2016

7. The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

But enough of wishful thinking and vague 'hopes'. Here's one game that's pretty much guaranteed to be great and wonderful, thanks to the fact that it's been around for 10 years and is one of the strongest entries in one of the greatest video game series of all time. The great thing about Zelda games from the GameCube onwards, is that their visual art design and iconography is essentially timeless, a remastered HD version serving to bring out the beauty of the game where SD resolutions simply failed to do it justice. As a result, Twilight Princess looks fantastic, and if you're yet to play it, then hold off until this promising-looking HD revamp. Visuals are just the surface of what Zelda games have to offer, of course, and Twilight Princess features that classic adventuring gameplay that'll see you wandering the most beautiful, open rendition of Hyrule yet (until later this year anyway). It's an excellent blend of puzzle-solving, tense combat encounters as you work out enemies' and bosses' attack patterns, and just soaking up the game's wonderful atmosphere with a fishing rod on Lake Hylia or trotting along on horseback and appreciating the dreamlike scenery. The HD remaster not only ups the resolution, but also improves the lighting, adds more details to textures like clothing and shops rather than just sharpening existing ones, and the whole world is no longer mirrored as it was in the Wii version, so the layout is true to the original GameCube version and the designers' original intentions.
