9 Video Game Titles Which Lied To You

6. Comic Bakery

FFIV title
KONAMI

There's nothing funny about working in a bakery. Those 4am starts are bad enough, but there's also inherent risks of singe injury (sinjury) way eclipsing just about any other profession, not to mention the possibility of losing a hand in a bread slicer. It's a noble, but monstrously tough vocation.

Conditions in the bun emporium of Konami's MSX points-per-pain title Comic Bakery - best known for Martin Galway's iconic chiptune in the C64 conversion - are even worse. In addition to the usual quotidian struggles which accompany the provision of our daily bread, the game's kitchen is overran by an unstoppable infestation of raccoons. It's all you can do to send out as many croissants as possible before you're completely overran by the rabid intruders. If this is what you call a 'comic' bakery, I'd hate to see a tragic one.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
