9 Video Games Everyone Played Wrong

3. The Sims 4

From one of the least controversial entries on this list to probably the most controversial and personal, there’s a right way to play The Sims and almost no one is doing it this way. In the more recent iterations of The Sims you have life goals, more subtasks to complete than ever, whether it’s related to your little Sim’s career or love life or friendships, and, controversial opinion, there is no reason to be doing anything other than what those tickable boxes tell you to do.

I know, I’m a crazy person, but if my Sim wants to get to the top of their career ladder they will be doing that, on max speed, with optimised personality traits. No friends, no family, no messing around.

Is this a nuts way to play a game that almost everyone else in the world sees as a limitless playground for dressing up digital dolls, building houses, and playing around with all that the game can offer? Probably. But it’s the way I’ve been playing it for years and Maxis put the systems in there for people like me who decided The Sims 4 is actually an RPG to be mastered, so let’s blame them.
