9 Video Games That Make Stupid Weapons Awesome
4. Worms WMD - A Dodgy Phone Battery
Worms is a series of games which has made a legacy of turning the weird and wonderful into terrifying weapons that can wreak havoc upon unsuspecting foes, with anything in the surrounding postcode often at risk as well. Whether you want to pilot a sheep with a superhero cape around the map, call in a literal carpet bombing or lob Monty Python’s own Holy Hand Grenade into the mix, there’s something for even the most bizarre tastes.
If we had to pick one weapon with the perfect balance of stupidest name and most destructive power, it would have to be the Dodgy Phone Battery. Debuting in 2016’s WMD title, this throwable item expels its charge in the way such a title suggests; poorly. Once this power pack comes to rest, bolts of electricity will shoot out at the nearest available worms, before passing their charge on to the next unfortunate annelid in range for extra damage.
Anybody whose iPhone charge can’t seem to hold for more than an hour has wanted to chuck it at a wall, how sweet it must be to chuck it instead at an enemy, and watch them fry.
