9 Video Games That Punish You For 100%

6. The Priciest Dance Party - Lego Dimensions

For the uninitiated, Lego Dimensions is a toys-to-life game meaning you’re gonna want to supplement your digital experience with real world packs of Lego that you may or may not want.

You can probably already guess that trying to 100% a game with this model is not only going to be time consuming, but also it’s going to get pretty expensive. Back when the game came out it was estimated to cost north of $500 to buy every single character and item, depending on when you picked them up. For that investment you’d expect that the completionist ending would be pretty darn great.

Right? It… it’s good right? Oh, that’s right, this is a list about games that punish you for putting in time and effort. It’s not good at all.

To get this ending you’ll have to collect over 480 gold bricks at which point you unlock the Vorton Disco Red Brick and are told to head back to the main game hub. While dancing in video games is often delightful to watch, even when Shepard is doing it, the 100% ending for Lego Dimensions is a new option in the game menu called ‘Dance Party’. There are disco lights, some quotes from the main characters that you would have heard in the campaign, and any character you put on the Toy Pad will dance. Almost all of which will do so with pretty much the same animation. Yeah, this is a rough one.
