9 Video Games That Used Everything You'd Learned Against You

8. Sonic The Hedgehog (2006) - Gotta Go... Slow??

Honestly, we could write an entire essay on the things wrong with the universally-panned Sonic the Hedgehog of 2006, but if there's one thing that stands out about it, it's how well it manages to punish gamers who've spent years perfecting Sonic's mantra of Gotta Go Fast.

This is mainly because Sonic the Hedgehog 06 is an absolute buggy mess. With a terrible camera that can wrestle control from you at any moment, awful level design made to encourage deaths and wonky controls, getting up any form of speed in Sonic 06 is absolutely a death sentence waiting to happen.

We cannot tell you how many times we plunged to our deaths in this game back in the day, not from fault of our own, but from the horrendous game in general punishing us relentlessly for trying to do the thing Sonic is best known for.
