9 Video Games You Didn't Realise Stupidly Broke Their Own Rules

1. Lightsabers Aren't Really Lightsabers - All Star Wars Games

The Rule:

Weapon of a Jedi Knight and not as clumsy or random as a blaster, lightsabers have been slicing things off other things since 1983. Seriously, its first use in combat is the removal of an arm.

Literally made of a beam of focused energy irradiating from a pressurised Kyber crystal, there's no universe in which this blade meeting anything in its path doesn't cut right through it.

But Wait...

Can you name ANY Star Wars game where decapitations or limb-slicing is a thing? Even the newest Star Wars Battlefront 2 - while refraining from making it so you could do lightsaber combos like Star Wars: Force Unleashed (urgh) - has them be a one-hit-kill baton, rather than showing off the necessary visual flourish.

Naturally the reason is Disney don't want childrens' memories of Star Wars to be awash in showerings of limbs and screams, but even the latest Solo movie had Chewie rip off a soldier's arms, so it's not completely out the realm of possibility.

Either way, how about we start treating one of fiction's greatest creations with the utilisation it deserves?
