3. Shenmue III
Yes, yes, I know. I can (and have) ragged on Shenmue III for being a relic, outdated, stuck in the past and all other similar things. I mean, I'm not wrong, but that's not the point this time.
This is actually a backhanded compliment in that despite all of its [many] faults, at least it finally came out. It may have smashed its Kickstarter in 2015, securing its fate, but in the interim prior no one had any certainty.
Fourteen years fans had to wait. Fourteen very long years before any certainty of Ryo's quest continuing. Almost a decade and a half before any hope that we'd ever see the series' unresolved questions be answered.
Which, funnily enough, most of them still haven't been. I won't venture into spoiler city, but the third installment has left just as many unanswered this time around. How long are they going to make people wait before the next installment?
Well, if review scores are anything to go by, probably indefinitely.
