A New Batman Arkham Game Was Going To Be Revealed At E3 2020
The Dark Knight can't catch a break.
In the fallout of E3's cancellation this year, insiders have revealed that publisher WB Games was originally planning to have their first ever conference at the event.
Kotaku's Jason Schreier confirmed the news in a tweet, saying:
As mentioned, as part of the show WB would have finally officially unveiled first looks at WB Montreal's long-rumoured and long-teased follow up to the Batman Arkhamverse, as well as what Rocksteady have been working on since shipping Arkham Knight in 2015, and finally the Harry Potter RPG, of which footage leaked a few years ago.
It's important to note that these reveals will still happen, as the cancelation of E3 has no baring on the projects themselves, but it's unknown whether or not they'll be announced in June or be pushed until later in the year.
While these three games are huge, the "others" Schreier mentions remain a mystery. Fighting game Injustice 3 is probably locked in, considering the developer's release schedule suggests an early 2021 release date, while a new entry in the Middle-Earth series wouldn't be out of the question.
Either way, fans are going to have to wait a little longer for more information on WB's upcoming slate.
