Activision Announces New Walking Dead Game

Activision publishing Walking Dead first person shooter.

Apparently one Walking Dead game isn't enough as Activision today announced that Terminal Reality is working on one as well. This will be a separate game from the Telltale€™s episodic The Walking Dead game. And because it is Activision this Walking Dead game will be a first person shooter; although they do say that the gameplay does favor stealth as supplies such as ammunition and food will be limited. The game will supposedly revolve around Daryl Dixon and his brother Merle as they go on a €œhaunting, unforgiving quest to make their way to the supposed safety of Atlanta.€ You will play as Daryl Dixon as he and his brother try to escape from zombies that can detect you based on sight, sound and smell. In addition, it will be your choice as to whether you fight your way out of a given situation or try the stealth approach and try to sneak past the zombies undetected. Activision states:
€œNo place is truly safe for Daryl as he makes his way through the Georgia countryside in this new, post-apocalyptic world.€
In addition, Daryl will apparently meet €œa slew of other characters€ that will either help or hinder his journey. Apparently it is up to the player to decide whether to allow other characters Daryl meets along the way to follow him or not. And according to Activision that €œrepresents just some of the major decisions that will constantly be made while fighting to survive.€ The game right now is scheduled to be released sometime in 2013 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
