4. Unlockable Abilities Don't REALLY Change Anything

If the meat of Agents of Mayhem is carnage, superhero-fuelled destruction and tons of ability points, you'd assume there are plenty of unlockable animations to flesh out your playstyle, right?

Nope.

Though it throws a huge number of unlockables your way, they ALL boil down to the most ancillary and forgettable of things.

"+3% XP Gain", -0.5% Meter Burn", "Faster Cooldown" and "Stun More Enemies" is the sorts of thing you're in for, and as you can imagine, none of these actually change gameplay all that much.

If you can find satisfaction in watching cooldowns and meters increase or decrease slightly faster because you equipped or unlocked a certain perk, by all means get stuck into AoM, but when it comes to gameplay, it plays exactly the same after 10 minutes, as after 10 hours.
