Animal Crossing: New Horizons - 10 Things We Learned From Nintendo Direct

9. The Classic Animal Crossing Experience Is Rolled Out Over Time

When we first learned about the game, so much of it was different to what we were used to. We’re basically building a community from scratch, living in a tent and crafting materials into workable tools and furniture. However, the game will eventually evolve into what you are used to from Animal Crossing.

At a certain point, good ol’ Tom Nook will offer to build you a house to replace your tent, and its right back to being in colossal debt. As always, the house can be expanded over time by going to even more debt, but it looks like the expansions are more elaborate this time around. You can have multiple rooms to play around with and decorate, and thankfully its all optional.

In addition, the familiar buildings from past titles will eventually migrate to your island. Places like Nook’s Cranny, Blathers’ Museum, and the Able Sisters place will all set up shop as time rolls on. This gives you more incentive to do the traditional stuff like fishing, bug catching and fossil hunting.

This time, things just aren’t handed to you on a silver platter this time around. You gotta WORK to play Animal Crossing. (Wait…)
