Assassin's Creed Odyssey: Every Detail You Need To Know

6. New Heroes Will Be Introduced

While the new game is acting as something of a sequel to Origins though, it's not bringing back Bayek (at least, not as a playable character).

Heroes from the previous game could return, but new protagonists have been confirmed, partly because at the minute the timeline of the sequel is entirely up in the air. Ancient Greece spans hundreds of years, and it's unclear whether the team is going to embrace the myths and legends of the earlier period or jump ahead to the Roman era.

The latter approach looks more likely, with what looks like a Roman soldier in the trailer. This gives Ubisoft centuries to work with, meaning the game could theoretically take place alongside Origins, or after it. Either way, even if Bayek does show up for a cameo appearance, he certainly won't be the hero of the tale.
