Assassin's Creed Origins Hands-On: 12 Things We Learned

3. NPCs & Bandit Camps Now Have Daily Routines

Ubisoft have been quick to point out that Origins' world is one populated by tons of interconnecting A.I. scripts, all apparently having their own 'wants and needs', alongside daily routines.

The IGN demo showed a crew of bandits obsessed with trying to raid a given place, meaning that as day turns to night you'll see gang leaders and their followers trek across the desert, completing their own missions. It means you can raid said crews and steal their loot back at home base or on the go, and also means you might get some unwanted visitors when you're off plundering yourself.

This mentality crosses over into the bandit camps themselves, where just like Far Cry or MGS V, waiting for the sun to set will thin the ranks, making infiltration easier. If a specific treasure is heavily guarded, make a note on your overworld map and come back under the cover of darkness - maybe you'll stand a better chance with the stars at your side.
