Assassin's Creed Origins Hands-On: 12 Things We Learned

1. A TON Of Witcher 3 Vibes

If there's one major takeaway from Origins, it's just how much Ubisoft want it to be the next Witcher 3.

Bayek is often seen on the back of a trusty steed, he spends a good chunk of the demo in an 'investigation mode' (a la Geralt's Witcher Senses), the quest structure is very conversation-based and eventually upended by a light twist on your expectations, and there's a heavy vibe of "one lone wanderer helps out the local populace bit by bit".

This factors into Bayek's standing as a Medjay (essentially a trusted government-appointed authority figure), mostly tasked with righting the wrongs of the world and eventually splitting off to set up the assassin order in a way not unlike Big Boss' creation of the Militaires Sans Frontieres in Metal Gear.

At this stage Ubi could probably do with showing us what the main story will be, as right now Origins is looking like 'Assassin's Creed Fetch Quest: The Game'.
