Assassin’s Creed Vikings Wishlist: 10 Things We Need To See
8. Replayable Memory Sequences
Do you remember the ability to replay memories in the older Assassin's Creed games?
Perhaps you had forgotten some of the story, wanted to relive a particular moment, or simply wanted to master a skill, either way, you could replay that mission of your choosing whenever you pleased. Well, not anymore, unfortunately.
Since the series has shifted into RPG gear, the ability to replay any sequence or "memory" of our choosing has been rendered unavailable.
The answer to this feature being removed is "New Game +", which allows players to keep all of their character progress, but start the entire map from scratch.
This is certainly a welcome addition to the series, but also where it starts to get a little tedious. As we know, these games have been getting so big that they can take upwards of 100 to even 200 hours to complete everything. And New Game + isn't even available until you've completed the main story at least once.
If someone wants to relive one specific quest, are they really going to want to go through all of that surrounding baggage just to get to it?
There are numerous ways to avoid issues with reimplementing this feature, and it seems such a minor one that it wouldn't make sense for the next entry not to have it.
