Assassin's Creed Movie Trailer: 11 Things You Totally Missed
3. The Bleeding Effect Is Key
Wondering what's going on at the end of the trailer, and why Fassbender's character suddenly has the power and confidence of a trained assassin? Well... he pretty much will be at that point.
The overarching narrative of the original trilogy of games always leant on the idea of present day users learning the abilities and proficiencies of their ancestors through what Abstergo called 'the bleeding effect'. By spending hours upon hours immersed in someone else's conscious, you eventually learn to do everything they can, alongside 'seeing' things in the world that aren't actually there, but are within the Animus' code.
I'm getting into wider AC lore here as the latter parts haven't even been hinted at, but the fight scene that shows Fassbender tackling a room of goons or firing arrows like a pro?
That's the bleeding effect in action.
