Assassin's Creed: Syndicate Reviews - 12 Shocking Critical Reactions You Need To See

4. The Horse-Drawn Carriages Are Going To Divide People

"Carriages handle about as well as you would expect a horse-drawn carriage might handle in a video game (exceedingly poorly), and the trailer-ready moments of you fighting on top of a carriage aren€™t exactly how things work in the game. Most of my carriage chases ended in me either awkwardly falling off as I try to board a rival vehicle, or doing a drive-by shooting with my revolver to murder the driver next to me. The whole system isn€™t as cinematic as it wants to be, and feels clumsy most of the time." - Paul Tassi, Forbes"They don€™t feel particularly fast or exciting to drive, but they handle much better than I was expecting." - Daniel Krupa, IGN
Was anyone out there demanding such a thing as horse-drawn carriages in their Assassin's Creed experience? Ubisoft have listened to the voices in their head again, and although many reviewers note they control in a very arcadey fashion, it's worth putting Forbes' Paul Tassi's comments to the fore, as one of the very first images we ever saw of Syndicate was Jacob battling on top of a carriage. It seems as though this is something that doesn't happen anywhere near as often as you'd like, and considering the other early footage that showed the carriages in action being very wobbly and unwieldy, you're definitely gonna love how goofy it all looks, or despise the very idea of their inclusion.
