Assassin's Creed Unity: 8 Things It Does Better Than The Rest

Contrary to popular opinion, Ubisoft's latest did get some things very right.

One thing gamers can rely on in the run up to any end-of-year season is the inevitable next instalment of their favourite yearly-releasing franchise, and last year was no different. Titles like Call of Duty and FIFA manage to creep their way onto shelves every year in the closing months, with the gamer's love affair towards them being a peculiar one. Fans pretty much know that none of these yearly-updated franchises are going to be game of the year material, but they are all adequate enough to provide enough satisfaction every time. Assassin's Creed is another that's been "good enough" for the past few years that Ubisoft have found themselves a bit of a Golden Goose with the success they have had so far. While 2014's AC: Unity sold predictably well, it did earn an unfortunate amount of infamy for the sheer volume of errors and issues players faced shortly after its release. Ubisoft managed to rectify much of this with a patch update and the overall critical reception wasn't really too damaged by the flaws, but they were enough of a problem to earn Unity an unfair role as the whipping boy of the series.
Although its reception since release has been fairly negative, here are a selection of reasons Unity doesn't deserve to have as bad a reputation as it does. In fact, the following is a list of things that Unity does better than any other Assassin's Creed title - worthwhile points that'll comfort disenfranchised fans and make them appreciate what went well. Until later this year of course, when it all might happen again.
