Assassin's Creed: Victory - 10 Missing Unity Features That Must Return

4. Enemy Guard Types

When AC II announced it was going to have multiple types of enemies, fans wondered if that meant there'd be an increased reliance on melee combat and fighting in general. The answer was that it would essentially be up to you, and regardless of what you think of introducing such a 'gamey' sensibility to a group of human-looking enemies, the fact that each 'guard type' would require a different method of approach made for some interesting and layered combat. Come the end of the Ezio trilogy they were gone, never to be seen again, despite being a solid iterations on AC's core combat that something like Batman would take and run away with. Now every guard you fight tackles you exactly the same way, and regardless of which moves you use against them, aside from literal scale of encounters and tackling groups at once, nigh-on every fight is identical.
