Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition Won't Be Coming to Wii U

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition developer calls the Wii a toy.

A couple months ago Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition was announced for iPads and PCs, however today we found out that the Wii U will not be getting a version of the game. With the Wii U's touch screen pad controller it was assumed Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition would be a perfect fit, but not according to Beamdog founder Trent Oster. Here is what Oster had to say on the subject:
"We don't do Nintendo development, Our previous experience with Nintendo was enough to ensure there will not be another. My problems with Nintendo are: requiring 6,000 unit sales before payment, a certification process that took us 9 months, and a 40MB limit,"
Oster and Beamdog had previously worked on a WiiWare release for Bioware called MDK2 and apparently the process was so bad Beamdog will probably not work with Nintendo again. Oster went on to say the Wii is more of a toy than an actual game console because of the low attach rate: "You buy a Wii, Wii sports and never buy another game, Bad for devs." Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is scheduled to be released sometime this summer, but no official release date has been announced. The game is said to have a new companion and a new "adventure".
