The Most Controversial Games Of All Time

12. Night Trap

1995 Sega One of the few notable titles for Sega€™s short lived Mega Drive add on the Sega CD, Night Trap was a Dragon€™s Lair style interactive horror film. Made up almost entirely of real video footage, the game was played by controlling different security cameras, all streaming video from different rooms in the house. Watching over a slumber party occupied by girls who personify the 1980's, your job is to protect them from the Augers - a race of sneaky ninja vampires. Looking at the game now it€™s pure cheese - playing out like a TV version of a terrible 80€™s horror movie with all the violence and gore cut out. It€™s pure camp, but through fear of it being available to children, the game was withdrawn from store shelves and also accused of encouraging violent attitudes towards women. The tone of the whole thing is relentlessly goofy, the violence is unrealistic and there€™s no nudity in the game whatsoever. None the less, Night Trap played a huge part in the forming of the ESRB gaming regulation board in the U.S and earns its place on this list. http://youtu.be/yCPL3DJ72tM
