The Most Controversial Games Of All Time

3. Thrill Kill

1998 EA/Virgin Interactive The only game on this list that wasn€™t even actually released, Thrill Kill caused so much controversy that it was canned by scared publishers EA at the last minute. A four player fighting game, Thrill Kill was set in the depths of hell and focused on a series of depraved characters with an emphasis on graphic and sexualized violence. Characters include a cattle prod wielding dominatrix named Belladonna and Cleetus - a tapeworm infected redneck. Much like Mortal Kombat, finishing moves were explicitly gory but more problematically, they were heavily sexualized. Effort was made to tone down and censor the games most explicit features but nothing could be done to save Thrill Kill from being swiftly cancelled by a concerned EA. As is the case with most unreleased games, Thrill Kill was leaked in its entirety by the developers allowing anyone to play the game with the use of an emulator. It might have never officially seen the light of day, but Thrill Kill has become infamous for admirably attempting to bring a little bit of bondage to the Playstation. http://youtu.be/u_VbjA4BjGk
