Out of all the main Batman: Arkham games, Batman: Arkham Origins undoubtedly falls short in terms of Easter eggs and references. Being the only one of the four not developed by Rocksteady, it's perhaps understandable. However, there is one overlooked gem at the beginning of the game that manages to tie the events of the series together.

When arriving at Blackgate Prison for the first time, players can view a visitor's log left open on a table. Inspecting it will show a 'Dr Jonathan Crane' has repeatedly signed in. Crane is of course the identity behind Scarecrow in the DC universe.

What makes this Easter egg neat is that Crane doesn't appear to have signed out of the prison. Scarecrow never appears in Origins, perhaps due to Rocksteady's development on Arkham Knight at the time, but this nod from WB Games Montréal does a stellar job of showcasing where this villain's own beginnings started, and how his plans for Gotham go much further back than what players might have first thought.
