Batman: Arkham 2017: 10 Ways To Make The Perfect Damian Wayne Game

1. Build A Better Gotham Than Before

Much like the Batsuit, various artists and designers have made their mark on Gotham over the years. It's been a Gothic European metropolis in Tim Burton's films, a neo-noir, almost Blade Runner like dystopia in Batman Beyond and, of course, an industrial wasteland in the Arkham series. It's its own thing to different people, but the ever-evolving nature of the city presents a prime opportunity for Montreal to go back to the drawing board and plot a different visual course than what's previously been attempted.

They can make Gotham their own.

Any sequel taking place after Arkham Knight can't just ape its aesthetics. Years, presumably, have passed since Bruce was unmasked to the world, and seeing how Gotham developed without the classic Bat-family presence would be an unmissable opportunity to witness. Indeed, the state of Gotham in this future environment would, I imagine, be instrumental in the reemergence of animal-themed vigilantism in the city. Has it fallen into abject destitution and destruction at the hands of the city's rogues? Or is crime more subtle now? Perpetrated by the likes of corporate cronies in control of Wayne Enterprises and other businesses in the area?

Obviously we don't know yet, but as many a Bat-writer will tell you, Gotham is a character in itself, emblematic of its residents as much as it is the DC Universe's harshest elements. Every street, every building, every alley paints a picture. Whether or not it's a pretty one, is up to Montreal.
