5. Gotham City

Arkham Asylum has been given a sublime treatment befitting its comic book origins, and in Arkham City, we were teased by being able to venture outside the asylum and explore a small smidgen of Gotham City. For number three, it's time to quit the foreplay and let us explore Gotham City as a giant, expansive whole, which Bats can navigate by way of the Batmobile, the Batwing, and by crawling the rooftops with the aid of his trusty utility belt. You know all those awesome shots of Batman standing atop a monument and staring pensively out into the distance? I want to be able to do that
anywhere, whenever I want. A living, breathing Gotham would present a number of challenges for Rocksteady - specifically the need to have crowd mechanics and everything else that belongs in a real city - but again, they've aced everything so far, so why not? That said, this is exactly why it might be worth them holding off for the next-gen, as the technical specs will allow them to create a more convincing world.
