Batman: Arkham Insurgency - Everything We Know So Far
6. Another 'Evacuated City' Open-World
Hey, at least it ensures the game's framerate will stay high. Rendering entire crowds of people and having Batman intermingle with them doesn't exactly feel like a perfect fit for the character anyway, but alas, WB Montreal are once again going for the "Everyone was evacuated before you got here" setup.
Most likely down to the GCPD sounding alarms or telling everyone to stay indoors, Arkham Insurgency will again see you mopping up endless thugs patrolling the streets, felling the occasional boss character along the way.
No much-needed return to Arkham Asylum's level of linearity, either.
Here's hoping we at least get a version of Arkham City's 'political prisoners'; NPC civilians who have either been taken hostage or otherwise preyed-upon by said enemies, letting us swoop in and save the day.
Honestly, for as much as Warner Bros. have let us 'Be the Batman', they've never allowed us to feel as though Gotham's citizens were really under our protection. With any luck, we'll see a greater civilian presence, despite Insurgency sounding like its version of Gotham will be another faux-wasteland.
