Batman: Arkham Knight - 10 Awesome Villains Who'll Steal The Show

1. Red Hood

Jason Todd's death in 1988 has had a lasting legacy in comic books as it represents one of Batman's greatest failures; he has never quite recovered from the guilt of being unable to save one of his closest allies. DC couldn't leave Jason Todd to rot in the ground though, so he was resurrected as the new Red Hood, immediately seeking retribution against those who he felt had wronged him. His violent battles against crime leads to him coming to blows with Batman too. Todd has yet to feature in the Arkham series but several references to the character can be found throughout. Crimes committed by the Red Hood are referenced on the crime-board and when playing as Tim Drake (Robin) in the challenge map Joker's Carnival, and the Clown Prince will remark "Didn't I kill you already?" This directly referencers the classic 'A Death In The Family' arc, suggesting similar events transpired in the Arkham universe. On top of this, Jason Todd/Red Hood have been confirmed for Arkham Knight as a DLC bonus for pre-orders. Many theorised that Jason would appear as the titular Arkham Knight, though confirmation of his role as a DLC character seems to have stemmed these. However, it still seems unlikely that Red Hood will only be appearing as a pre-order bonus. The excellent Troy Baker will be voicing the character and his talents are too good to be wasted on non-prominent characters (he will also be voicing the Arkham Knight, conspiracy fans). Red Hood's role as a villain in the Arkham Knight story would be welcome; the character has a lot to offer. He would serve as a challenging foe for Batman to deal with (after all, Bruce did train him) and his willingness to kill puts him directly at odds with the Dark Knight's methods. It would be another opportunity to highlight the weaknesses which Batman attempts to hide from the world. Jason could still make an impact on the game as a surprise ally but his character would better be used in a villainous role, opposing Batman and his methods. Putting Jason Todd in the Arkham Knight suit now seems a bit underwhelming; let him don the Red Hood and carve out his own legacy in the Arkham series. Agree? Disagree?
