Batman: Arkham Knight - 10 Awesome Villains Who'll Steal The Show

2. Scarecrow

Up till now, the star of the Arkham series (besides Batman) has been The Joker; he's been in every game and his antics have made a heap of memorable moments for fans. That hasn't stopped the Scarecrow from stealing the show in Arkham Asylum though. The Scarecrow appears in three sections in the first title, poisoning Batman with fear gas and leading him through a series of hallucinations. These segments are really well done, often breaking the fourth wall (the third infamously made players think the game had crashed) and showing Bruce Wayne at his weakest and most vulnerable. Scarecrow even allows his presence to be felt in Arkham City, despite not actually making a single appearance. A very well hidden Easter Egg sees the player exploring a barge stuffed with cockroaches, apparently purchased by a certain Jonathan Crane. There's also a dead goon in the barge who seems to be branded with a very unique logo... be sure to zoom in on it! The return of the Scarecrow and his fear gas as the main villain in Knight will undoubtedly lead to a number of mind-bending scenes and events, and hopefully Rocksteady bring back the hallucination aspect; it's a neat way of showing Bruce's inner fears and reminding the player of the weaknesses of the man under the cowl. With The Joker gone, the Scarecrow's time to shine has come. He may not be the titular character of Arkham Knight but the game is still his for the taking; by properly embracing the madness, Rocksteady could turn the Scarecrow into a truly memorable and horrifying antagonist.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
