Batman Arkham Knight: 10 Killer E3 Announcements We Await
3. Return To The Asylum
It would be an extremely well received announcement if Rocksteady were to tell us at E3 that the final instalment in the award winning series would feature Batmans return to the place where it all began, Arkham Asylum. This would be a perfect book-end style ending to what has probably been the finest series of super hero games ever to have been made. Rocksteady have revealed that the playable area in their latest release will be approximately five times larger than that featured in Arkham City (which in turn was five times larger than Arkham Asylum). With this respective scale in mind, surely then adding the comparatively tiny Asylum to the huge game area would be an easy task? We saw a similar mechanic employed to great success in Dead Space 2 when Isaac made his dramatic return to the USG Ishimura, the spaceship in which the entirety of the original took place. Not only would it be a fitting end to the series to return to its roots but a going back to the Asylum could also make a lot of sense in the context of the narrative; as was evident in the Arkham trailer, Bruce has become increasingly prone to bouts of depression, and so even be built into the narrative that he is forced to enter the Asylum as an inmate.
