Batman Arkham Knight: 10 Storylines It Needs To Adapt

7. Death Of The Family

Following the events of The Court Of Owls, the Joker is incredibly disappointed with his one time powerful foe, and sporting a terrifying new look that has his actual face strapped on as a mask, he decides that no group of owls could have possibility taken down Batman, had he not been weakened by love. He realises that the Bat Family are Batman's weakness and the key to ensuring his own comeback is to remove them to make his opponent a worthy adversary again. The frightening thing about Death of the Family is that the Joker seems to known not only which heroes are associated with Batman, but it appears that he can strike them in their civilian identities... which leads to the terrifying question: Does the Joker know that Batman is Bruce Wayne? The story starts with the Joker having Harley Quinn masquerade as the Red Hood and attack Batman, though she does try to warn Batman that her puddin' is far more dangerous and ruthless than ever before. As an indication, he brutally attacks Alfred Pennyworth, poisons Jim Gordon, and attacks Nightwing, Red Robin, Robin, and Batgirl. He also traps the The Riddler, Penguin, and Two-Face keeping them from the fray and from stealing his thunder. At times every member of the Bat-Family find themselves at the mercy of the Joker - even at one point Batman himself is strapped to an electric chair. Its a terrifying plot that, as a video game, offers the possibility of deploying a noir motif in the visuals and elements of a horror game as the Joker's new persona and modus operandi is less circus themed than fear-driven approach that puts the Scarecrow to shame. The game would also offer the possibility of levels and missions where playable characters or cameos could be made by a cast that spans the gamut Batman's history. If Rocksteady is looking for a horrifying way to "resurrect" the Joker they need look no further than this story that would be a great twist in the visuals of the Arkham franchise. Possible Playable Characters and Cameos: Nightwing Batgirl Red Robin Robin Red Hood Penguin Two-Face Alfred Pennyworth Jim Gordon Harley Quinn
