Not to be confused by the vile Frank Miller comic of a similar name, Batman: Holy Terror was a one-shot comic from the early 90s by Alan Brennert and classic Batman artist Norm Breyfogle. It was significant because this was the first DC Comic that bore the Elseworlds logo.

In Holy Terror, the United States is a commonwealth run by a theocratic government. Bruce Wayne, who is preparing to enter the clergy, is told by his friend and inquisitor James Gordon that his parents weren’t killed as a result of a random mugging, but because of a state-planned execution.

After his ordination as a priest, Bruce dons a familiar bat motif and begins a one-man crusade against the government.
